Abstract:

During every Lean Transformation there are mistakes that you wish, if you were able to do it all over again, you could change. In this session, Mr. Saleh discusses the lesson learned he encountered as he helped set the Lean vision with senior executive teams, different Lean system architects used, deployed and adjustments he made as he led the enterprise-wide Lean Transformations. Areas of focus are:

  • The Management System
  • The Production System
  • People System

  • Lesson Learned from the last 12 years from Complex Healthcare Systems
  • Approaches to deploying the management┬ásystem (Strategy Deployment & Daily Management)
  • Selecting a light house or model cell in the beginning of your journey
  • Advancing the production system through value stream mapping and pegging countermeasures that complement the management system needs
  • Different approaches used to Training the organization on problem solving (Kata coaching, Gemba walks, class room training, side-by-side on the floor training)
  • Making Lean a Transformation based on principles and milestones and not a program (leveraging the Shingo model milestone mindset)
  • Gaining Leadership Commitment, active Participation

About the Facilitator:

  • Over 18+ years of experience; Co-Founder and Principle of Vizibility llc. Past 12 Years of Lean Experience at Hartford Healthcare as the Senior Sensei and Executive Director of the Lean Office and before that provided consulting services to an array of industries such as but not limited to Gibbs Wire & Steel Inc.; Clinical Laboratory Partners; Admill Machine; Middlesex Hospital; Uconn Healthcare Center and Franklin Products a supplier of Boeing Aerospace.
  • Part-Time Professor at Central Connecticut State University for the Graduate Department of Engineering and Technology Management with a focus on Lean Management, Operational Management and Project Management and Principle at Vizibility, llc
  • PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University (in progress) , Masters in Engineering and Technology Management and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Central Connecticut State University
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Kaplan University), Past Malcom Baldrige Examiner (PIPEX)
