Using Lean to develop people in Human Resources
Diane McCutcheon & Karyn Ross
HR is often defined as ‘Human Resources’. However, unlike other ‘resources’ a company uses, (computers, photocopiers and the electricity to power buildings), people – the fabulous human beings – who make up all organizations, don’t ‘depreciate’ over time. In fact, they can ‘appreciate’ in value. In this session, you will learn how Algonquin College is using the AC Way to actively develop and engage people both within HR and across the wider organization so that they continue to appreciate in value for the their clients and the organization.
In This Session You Will Learn…
- How lean helps us see and develop people not as resources but as human beings.
- Why creating Human Relationships is the key to employee engagement.
- Actual case study of Lean implementation through coaching in the HR department at Algonquin College, Ottawa, Canada
